Daughter’s progress is the result of special care

When my daughter Kasey was born at 26 weeks, it was hard to imagine the child I see today — growing, thriving and happy. But thanks to the wonderful care from BAYADA Home Health Care, she is exactly that, though her medical journey is far from over.
Our family’s story was profiled in the online “Faces of Home Health” series, compiled by the Alliance for Home Health Quality and Innovation in Washington, D.C.
Upon birth, Kasey received a tracheostomy to assist her breathing and with that came around the clock medical care.
Now at age 4, her tracheostomy has been removed and, with the help of her pediatric home health nurses, she is learning to eat through her mouth instead of the feeding tube made necessary by the tracheostomy. Unable to speak early on, she has even become fully verbal.
When we were first exploring treatment options, it was important that Kasey remain in an environment where she felt most comfortable.
Home health care was that solution. BAYADA Home Health Care helped us find a skilled nurse in the Philadelphia area whose personality was a perfect match for Kasey and whom we trusted with our daughter’s health.
Kasey’s progress has been absolutely remarkable. I’m extremely grateful for the specialized care that she has received, which allows us to continue leading our lives together, in our own home, and as a family.
